Ingredients Preparation

For the filling:

4 McIntosh apples, peeled and finely diced
2 tablespoons Selection butter
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
A pinch of cumin (just enough for a hint of warm, original flavor)
1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, to keep the apples golden brown)

For the dough:

1 Selection puff pastry

For the finish:

1 beaten egg (for glazing)
A little sugar for sprinkling

Apple preparation:

In a medium saucepan, melt the Selection butter over medium heat.
Add the diced apples, brown sugar, vanilla, and a pinch of cumin.
Let simmer gently for about 8 to 10 minutes, until the apples are tender and slightly caramelized.
Remove from heat and let cool completely before filling the pastry.

Pastry preparation:

Roll out the Selection puff pastry on a lightly floured work surface.
Cut out 6 circles (or rectangles) about 10 to 12 cm in diameter.

Assembling the turnovers:

Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each piece of pastry.
Fold the pastry in half to form a turnover and seal the edges well with a fork.
Brush the top with beaten egg and sprinkle a little sugar for a beautiful golden crust.
